The Town of Oakville invites tenders for construction services described as: an invitation to prospective bidders to submit bids for the West River Culvert Replacement, as further described in Section 4 Special Provisions and Section 5 Specifications of the Bid Document.

THIS BID IS ONLY OPEN TO THE PREQUALIFIED LIST OF BIDDERS BELOW:

Replacement of the culvert crossing along West River Street that outlets into Swan's Cove (Bronte Harbour/Berta Point).   The current culvert is in disrepair and are considered emergent work that were not identified in the capital forecast   This work is proceeding on an accelerated timeline due to the current condition of the public road and winter season onset.  Roads and Works monitor the roadway regularly to ensure that the temporary steel plates over the road is holding as Design and construction secure the appropriate design and permits to execute the culvert replacement. The works will also include the replacement of armourstone within Swan's Cove.   The armourstone work is identified in Park's and Open Space capital forecast and previously scheduled for Fall 2024; however, given the overlap between the culvert replacement, and the armourstone work, it would be highly beneficial to execute the work at the same time.  The ArmourStone makes up a portion of the culvert headwall, therefore from a constructability, logistics and economic standpoint it is ideal to have the works proceed under one contract.
