Prequalification of General Contractors for Oakville Museum Coach House Renovation.  The Coach house consists of 2 parts, the cottage part and the carriage part. Both parts will be renovated to accommodate uses in a multi-purpose capability, like museum exhibits, children’s programs, outdoor performances, and artist-in-residence programming.

Developing the building will require the restoration of the heritage parts including, but not limited to woodwork, trims, wood stairway, stall rails, windows, doors, parts of the roof, etc. It will also include adding a barrier-free washroom and a kitchen. A new front porch and entrance door will be added to make the building accessible to conform with the Town OUDS. The carriage part will have a large glass folding door to integrate the inner and the outdoor spaces to accommodate appropriately scaled event venues.

The renovation will also include adding new power and data outlets, new light fixtures and changes in the HVAC system.  The project also includes landscaping such as new pathways on an archaeological site.
