The Town of Oakville (the “Town”) is seeking proposal submissions to provide:
Professional assessment base management services, specifically to provide representation for the Town in assessment appeal proceedings.

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is mandated by the Assessment Act (2001) to assess and return property assessment values for all properties in Ontario for purposes of
property taxation. Provisions are available under the Assessment Act to property owners and/or a Municipality to appeal the assessment value retuned by MPAC if they believe the property have
been over or under assessed by MPAC.

MPAC returns the assessment roll annually and Municipalities and property owners can file an appeal to the Assessment Review Board (ARB) before the set annual deadline. Appeals can be filed
annually for each year of the retuned roll. The Town is a statutory party to all appeals filed at the ARB and may chose to participate where the risk is significant. The Town also files appeals
(proactive appeals) to the ARB on properties we deem to be incorrectly assessed or classified.
