This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Town of Oakville (the “Town”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Sixteen Mile Sports Complex & Library Addition, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). 

A vibrant community within the Greater Toronto Area, the Town of Oakville is a thriving lakeside municipality of approximately 215,700 residents. It is one of four municipalities in Halton Region, providing all the advantages of a well-serviced urban centre, while maintaining its small-town ambiance. The Town is seeking the services of a qualified construction firm to provide construction services for the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex & Library Addition, located at 3070 Neyagawa Boulevard, Oakville, ON L6M 4L6.

The new community centre and library will be located on the North Park property on the west side of Neyagawa Boulevard, north of Dundas Street in the Town of Oakville. The new community centre and library will attach to and become part of the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex (“SMSC”) which is a dedicated LEED Gold building under the Canadian Green Building Council. The new community centre will be approximately 67,000 square feet in size, as well as an additional 18,000 square feet for a new branch library located within the facility. The facility will consist of a multi-tank indoor aquatic complex (25m 6-lane lap pool, and leisure pool), fitness/active living centre, flexible multi-use space to accommodate seniors, youth, and cultural programming and gymnasiums. The library branch will consist of a Creation Zone, work and study spaces (including collaboration spaces), comfortable reading and conversation areas, children’s and teen spaces, a robust collection with flexible and movable shelving, a flexible programming space, and public computers.
