Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre is a 13,500 sq.m. building which is a community centre of the Town of Oakville and an emergency evacuation centre for the Halton Region. In the case of a community emergency that requires residents to leave their homes, this site may be used as a temporary shelter and sleeping area. The facility also hosts a semi-annual event where the gallery and corridor spaces are used to display fibre and textile art. These materials are combustible and this hazard was not considered during building construction, so early warning detection is required. This project is for the supply, delivery, and installation of additional smoke detectors throughout the building that are required to meet the requirements of these uses.
